Does Acorns Spend need to be my funding source for Acorns?

Acorns Spend does not need to be your funding source. You can maintain your current funding source or easily switch to Acorns Spend as your funding source — it’s up to you!

If you decide to make Acorns Spend your funding source for Acorns and Acorns Later, you can seamlessly earn Real-Time Round-Ups, set up automatic investments, and save for retirement – all within the same place. You can also transfer money from your Acorns account to your Acorns Spend account, though we encourage you to stick with it and keep your money where it can grow!

To become an Acorns Spend customer, you do need to be a verified Acorns customer with an existing funding source.
