Changing my Funding Source

To ensure your account’s security, we may require documentation verifying your ownership of both the current and new funding sources. If your account requires additional verification, please follow the prompts on the Acorns website or app for additional details.

You can change your checking account by logging in to your account and completing the following steps:

For Mobile:

  1. Tap the menu (avatar) in the upper left-hand corner
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Tap "Linked Accounts"
  4. Tap "..." in the upper right-hand corner of the screen
  5. Tap "Change Primary Checking" at the bottom of the screen
  6. You then have 2 options:
    1. Type the name of your bank in the search bar; OR
    2. Type "123" in the search bar and then tap "Don't see your bank" at the bottom of the screen. You will then need to enter your Routing Number and Account Number in the fields and tap "Link Account" at the bottom of the screen. 

For Web:

  1. Click the menu (avatar) in the upper right-hand corner
  2. Click on "Profile & Settings"
  3. Click on "Linked Accounts"
  4. Click on "Change primary" towards the top of the screen
  5. You then have 2 options:
    1. Type the name of your bank in the search bar; OR
    2. Click on "Link Manually." You will then need to enter your Routing Number and Account Number in the fields and tap "Link Account."
