One Month Free Trial Terms & Conditions
Acorns Grow Incorporated’s (“Acorns”) One-Month Free Trial (the “Promotion”) is subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein.
First Time Acorns Customers are eligible for a one-month free trial (the “Free Trial”) if they (1) sign up for an Acorns User Account; (2) connect a verified, linked funding source; (3) complete the registration process during the offer period; and (4) otherwise meet the terms and conditions set forth herein.
Definitions
Acorns Account means any combination of Acorns Managed Account(s) and Acorns Checking Account(s).
Acorns Checking Account means an Acorns Green Card Checking Account, an Acorns Green Card Emergency Savings Account, an Acorns Mighty Oak Checking Account, and/or an Acorns Mighty Oak Emergency Savings Account. Acorns Mighty Oak Checking and Emergency Savings accounts are no longer available to new Acorns Users signing up on or after November 10, 2025.
Acorns Early means GoHenry, Inc. d/b/a Acorns Early.
Acorns Early Customer means a customer who has signed up for, and agreed to, an Acorns Early Customer Agreement, which provides access to the Acorns Early Platform.
Acorns Early Platform means the digital platform and collective products and/or services provided by GoHenry Inc. d/b/a Acorns Early and its affiliated entities now or in the future, separate from the Acorns Platform, available through the Acorns Early Website acorns.com/early and/or the Acorns Early application.
Acorns Managed Account(s) means an Acorns Invest Account (including Base Portfolio Accounts and/or Custom Portfolio Accounts), Acorns Later Account, Acorns Early Invest Account(s), or any of your selected combination thereof.
Acorns Platform means the digital platform and collective products, accounts, and/or services provided by Acorns and its affiliated entities now or in the future, separate from the Acorns Early Platform, available through the Acorns Website www.acorns.com and/or the Acorns application.
First Time Acorns Customer means an individual who has never previously been an Acorns User, subscribed to or begun the sign-up process for the Acorns and/or Acorns Early Platforms, opened any Acorns User Account and/or Acorns Early Customer Account, and/or participated in any prior free trial offer with respect to Acorns or Acorns Early. A First Time Acorns User must be 18 years or older, be a United States legal resident or citizen that currently resides in the United States, or an active Armed Service personnel that maintains a U.S. address and is temporarily deployed overseas.
Good Standing means an account with a verified linked funding source for which all required account opening documentation has been completed, and an account status that is not locked, suspended, or otherwise restricted in any way, as determined by Acorns or its affiliated entities in their sole discretion. You must maintain your Acorns User Account and/or Acorns Early Customer Account, as applicable, in Good Standing throughout the Free Trial Period to remain eligible for the Free Trial.
Returning Acorns Customers means an individual who does not qualify as a First Time Acorns Customer.
All terms used but not otherwise defined herein have the same meaning as in the Acorns Program Agreement.
1. Eligibility and Offer:
- The Free Trial is exclusively available to First Time Acorns Customers.
- Eligibility for the Free Trial is determined at the sole discretion of Acorns.
- Acorns reserves the right to withdraw or modify the Free Trial offer at any time with or without prior notice, in accordance with applicable law.
- Note: Returning Acorns Customers may be eligible for up to one month free in Acorns’ discretion. Eligibility not guaranteed. Returning Acorns Customers who receive any free trial period of any length are subject to the Free Trial terms and conditions set forth herein.
2. Duration of Free Trial:
- The Free Trial period commences on the date your Acorns User Account is opened (the “Opening Date”) and continues for the Free Trial Period (as defined below).
- The “Free Trial Period” means the period from the Opening Date to the day before your first Fee Date. Your First Fee Date is the monthly anniversary of the Opening Date, except that If the monthly anniversary of your Opening Date falls on a weekend and/or holiday, your First Fee Date for that month will be either (i) the first business day immediately prior to the monthly anniversary of your Opening Date; or (ii) the first business day in the next calendar month, if your First Fee Date would otherwise fall on a day in the prior month due to weekends or holidays.
- Upon the expiration of the Free Trial Period and on each subsequent Fee Date thereafter, you will be charged the monthly Subscription Fee unless and until you close your Acorns User Account.
- You will not be charged the monthly Subscription Fee if, on or before the last day of the Free Trial Period you (1) initiate cancellation of your Acorns User Account; and (2) initiate closure of all open Acorns Accounts.
3. Automatic Enrollment in Paid Subscription and Billing:
- Automatic Renewal: BY ACCEPTING THIS FREE TRIAL, YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT (I) UNLESS AND UNTIL YOU CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION, INCLUDING INITIATING CLOSURE OF ALL OPEN ACORNS ACCOUNTS, PRIOR TO THE END OF THE FREE TRIAL PERIOD, YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE ENROLLED IN A PAYING MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION FEE FOR YOUR SELECTED SUBSCRIPTION PLAN UPON THE EXPIRATION OF THE FREE TRIAL PERIOD AND (II) YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND, AND SPECIFICALLY CONSENT TO THE AUTOMATIC RENEWAL TERMS OF THE FREE TRIAL. Your acceptance constitutes clear, informed, and affirmative consent to the automatic enrollment in a paid subscription upon expiration of the Free Trial Period. You hereby waive any claim or defense that you did not receive adequate notice of, or did not knowingly consent to, the automatic renewal terms set forth herein.
- Billing Upon Conversion: At the end of the Free Trial Period, your linked Funding Source will be automatically charged the Subscription Fee for your Selected Subscription Plan. In the event Acorns is unable for any reason to collect your Subscription Fee by debiting your Primary of Secondary Funding Source, Acorns, by and through any of its affiliated entities, may liquidate ETF Shares or Stock in your Managed Accounts to pay your Subscription Fee in accordance with, and as further set forth, in the Program Agreement, for the monthly Subscription Fee following the expiration of the Free Trial Period and for each month thereafter until a verified Funding Source is successfully linked to your Acorns User Account.
- Recurring Billing: Following the initial charge, your subscription will automatically renew on a monthly basis, and your Funding Source will be billed the applicable monthly Subscription Fee unless and until you affirmatively cancel your subscription, including closing your Acorns User Account and all open Acorns Accounts.
4. Cancellation of Subscription:
- Cancellation Obligation: TO AVOID BEING CHARGED THE SUBSCRIPTION FEE, YOU MUST (1) INITIATE CANCELLATION OF YOUR ACORNS USER ACCOUNT; AND (2) INITIATE CLOSURE OF ALL OPEN ACORNS ACCOUNTS BEFORE THE END OF THE FREE TRIAL PERIOD.
- App Access Upon Cancellation: Upon cancellation of your subscription, you will continue to be able to log into your Acorns User Account for limited purposes, such as to retrieve account documentation. Access to your Acorns Accounts and use of all other services provided by Acorns will terminate immediately.
- Reopening Of Account: You may reopen your Acorns User Account during the Free Trial Period and resume use of the services through the remainder of your free trial period. YOU WILL THEN BE CHARGED THE MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION FEE UPON THE EXPIRATION OF THE ORIGINAL FREE TRIAL PERIOD, UNLESS YOU AGAIN INITIATE CANCELLATION OF YOUR ACORNS USER ACCOUNT AND INITIATE CLOSURE OF ALL OPEN ACORNS ACCOUNTS PRIOR TO THE EXPIRATION OF THE FREE TRIAL PERIOD.
- No Refunds or Credits: We do not provide refunds or credits for any partial months, including the Free Trial Period if you decide to cancel before its full term.
- Account Closure Requirement: If you choose to cancel your subscription, you will need to close and liquidate all of your Acorns Accounts in accordance with the Program Agreement and as further set forth herein.
5. Access to the Acorns Platform During Free Trial Period:
- Unless explicitly stated otherwise in this Promotion, you will be granted access to the features and content typically included in the applicable Subscription Plan during the Free Trial Period unless and until you cancel your subscription and close all of your Acorns Accounts.
- Acorns Accounts offered through the Acorns Platform are optional and are not required to participate in the Promotion. If you open one or more Acorns Account(s), you may be required to provide additional documentation for identity and/or bank account verification purposes in order to fund or transact in your Acorns Account(s). If you fail to provide requested documentation, or if Acorns is unable to verify your identity to its satisfaction, Acorns may, in its sole discretion, delay, limit, restrict, or refuse to permit funding or transactions in your Acorns Account(s).
- Acorns reserves the right to modify, limit, or change the features and content accessible during the Promotion at any time, without prior notice or otherwise in accordance with applicable law.
6. Termination of Free Trial by Acorns:
- Acorns, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate this Promotion or your participation in it at any time, for any reason, without prior notice or liability, or otherwise in accordance with applicable law.
- In the event Acorns determines at any time and in its sole discretion that (i) you are not eligible for this offer; (ii) there may have been unauthorized or fraudulent activity related to any account; (ii) there was a violation of the Program Agreement or this Promotion; and/or (iii) that an Acorns User Account is otherwise not in Good Standing, whether or not in connection with the Promotion, Acorns, by and through any of its affiliated entities, further reserves the right to terminate your Free Trial access (and to decline to grant any Reward Shares, if any, and/or to withhold, rescind, delay, liquidate, recapture, and/or claw back any Reward Shares already provided and any security or related dollar proceeds derived from such Reward Shares).
7. Data Privacy:
- Your use of the Acorns Platform and participation in the Free Trial are subject to the Acorns Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. Your participation constitutes consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Acorns Account Tax Disclosures:
- Professional Consultation: Acorns does not provide tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. YOU ARE ADVISED TO CONSULT WITH A QUALIFIED TAX ADVISOR, ACCOUNTANT, OR OTHER APPROPRIATE PROFESSIONAL before making any decisions regarding your Acorns Account(s).
- Tax Consequences Warning: YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT ANY ACORNS ACCOUNT ACTIVITY, INCLUDING DURING THE FREE TRIAL PERIOD, MAY RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT TAX CONSEQUENCES, including but not limited to:
- Acorns Invest Accounts: Capital gains taxes, dividend income taxes, and other federal and state tax obligations.
- Acorns Later Accounts: IRS early withdrawal penalties, federal and state income taxes, loss of tax-advantaged status, and other adverse tax implications.
- Acorns Early Invest Accounts (UGMA/UTMA): “Kiddie tax” rules, capital gains taxes, gift tax implications, and other federal and state tax obligations.
- Limitation of Liability for Tax Consequences: TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ACORNS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY TAX CONSEQUENCES, PENALTIES, INTEREST, AND/OR OTHER FINANCIAL IMPACTS ARISING FROM, OR RELATED TO, YOUR DECISIONS REGARDING ANY ACORNS ACCOUNTS, including any actions you take or fail to take with respect to such accounts during the Free Trial Period or thereafter. You acknowledge and agree that all decisions regarding any Acorns Account are made solely at your own risk and discretion.
- Customer Tax Acknowledgment: By participating in the Free Trial, you expressly acknowledge and confirm that: (i) you understand the potential tax consequences associated with Acorns Account activities; (ii) you have been advised to consult with qualified professionals before making decisions regarding any Acorns Account; (iii) Acorns has made no representations or warranties regarding the tax implications of any of your Acorns Account activities, including with respect to account activity during the Free Trial Period; and (iv) you assume full responsibility for any and all tax consequences resulting from your Acorns Account decisions.
9. Acorns Early Invest (UGMA/UTMA) Account Disclosures:
- IRREVOCABILITY WARNING: FUNDING OR MAKING TRANSFERS TO ACORNS EARLY INVEST ACCOUNT(S), INCLUDING DURING THE FREE TRIAL PERIOD OR THEREAFTER, CONSTITUTES IRREVOCABLE GIFTS TO THE MINOR BENEFICIARY. Once deposited, assets become the permanent legal property of the minor and cannot be reclaimed, withdrawn, or redirected by the custodian for any purpose other than for the minor’s benefit.
- Transfer at Age of Transfer: When the minor beneficiary reaches the age of transfer under applicable state law, Acorns will notify the custodian, and the minor beneficiary will be entitled to full ownership and control of all assets in the Acorns Early Invest Account. To complete a transfer, the beneficiary must contact Acorns to select a distribution option. The custodian has no authority to delay, restrict, or prevent this transfer once the beneficiary reaches the age of transfer.
- Custodian Fiduciary Duty: By opening or managing a UGMA/UTMA account, the custodian assumes complete fiduciary responsibility under applicable state law to manage the account solely and exclusively for the benefit of the minor beneficiary. Acorns does not, and disclaims responsibility to, monitor, supervise, evaluate, or provide guidance regarding whether the custodian’s actions comply with UGMA/UTMA fiduciary standards.
Relationship to Program Agreement and Termination
Participation in the Free Trial remains at all times subject to the terms and conditions of the Program Agreement. This includes, without limitation, the “Dispute Resolution” Section (which includes without limitation your mandatory arbitration agreement); the “Liability” Section (which includes limitation of liability and indemnification provisions); and the “Miscellaneous” Section of the Program Agreement. These shall apply to this Agreement to the same extent as they apply to the Program Agreement. Any applicable Reward Shares credited to you during the Free Trial period for referrals pursuant to the Acorns Referral Program are subject to the applicable terms and conditions of the Program Agreement relating to Reward Shares. To the extent the express terms and conditions of this Promotion and those of the Program Agreement directly conflict, this Promotion shall govern. Acorns reserves the right to terminate this Promotion at any time with or without notice and/or to change or modify the terms and conditions of this Promotion by posting such revised terms and conditions to the Acorns Website. The Promotion is not transferable, saleable, or valid in conjunction with certain other offers.
Important Risk Disclosures and Additional Information
This Promotion is a limited time offer. There is no cash value equivalent and there is no option for a cash alternative to the Promotion. Acorns reserves the right to restrict or revoke any and all offers at any time. Acorns, in its sole discretion, may waive certain eligibility criteria. Acorns reserves the right to request additional documentation for identity and/or bank account verification before you are able to open any Acorns Account.
