Invite friends, get $5

For every friend you invite to Acorns, you can earn a $5 referral bonus that gets invested in your Acorns Invest portfolio. There’s no limit to how many friends you can invite, and best of all, your friends also get a $5 bonus investment, too! (Terms and conditions apply.)

How do I get my $5 referral bonus? 

1. Open the Acorns app and tap the “Profile” icon in the top left 

2. Go to the “Invite friends” screen in the Acorns app to get your unique referral link 

3. Share your unique referral link with friends 

4. Friends use your unique referral link to sign up for Acorns 

5. Friends make their successful first investment ($5 or more) within 14 days of the promotional period

6. After your referral is verified, you and your friend will both receive a $5 bonus investment 

How can my friends earn their bonus? 

First things first, your friends will need to use your unique referral link to sign up for Acorns for the first time. Once they do, they’ll be asked to securely link their bank to Acorns (they can learn more about Acorns’ security here). Then, they’ll answer a few questions to set up their Acorns Invest account — an investment portfolio selected for your friend based on their investment profile. Lastly, they’ll need to make their first investment of at least $5, or set a Recurring Investment. After we verify your friend has taken all these steps, you’ll both receive your bonuses in your Invest account within 30 days! More details are available in the referral program terms.

Limited-time promo referral bonuses  

In addition to our “Invite Friends, Get $5” referral program, Acorns’ Limited Time Promo Referrals gives you a chance to earn even more bonus investments. It generally involves inviting a set number of friends within a set amount of days for a bigger referral bonus. You can find details on the “Invite friends” screen in the Acorns app. 

How do I earn Limited Time Promo referral bonuses? 

To earn your bonus, follow the steps below. More details on each individual offer are available in the referral program terms. 

1. Open the Acorns app and tap the “Profile” icon in the top left

2. Go to the “Invite friends” screen in the Acorns app to get your unique referral link 

3. Share your unique referral link with friends within the promotional period 

4. Friends use your unique referral link to sign up for Acorns within the promotional period

5. Friends make their successful first investment of $5 or more within 14 days of the promotional period 

6. Acorns will review the accounts of program participants for qualification and continued good standing 

7. If you and your referrals qualify, bonuses are typically paid within 30 days of meeting the promotional criteria

How can I check on my referrals?

Thanks to your unique referral link, you can see how many referrals you have pending and completed right from the Acorns app. 

1. Open the Acorns app and tap on the “Profile” icon in the top left

2. Go to the “Invite friends” screen 

3. Swipe up on “Your invite history” at the bottom

When will I receive my referral bonus? 

You will normally receive your bonus within 30 days of all promotional criteria being met. Check the terms of the unique offer you participated in for more information.
