Acorns’ Invest My Tips Match Program (the “Match Program”) is subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein (the “Match Terms”), as may be updated from time to time. By using Invest My Tips and participating in the Match Program, each Acorns Customer agrees to these Match Terms.
1. DEFINITIONS
When the following capitalized terms are used in these Match Terms, the following definitions apply:
Acorns means Acorns Grow and its Affiliated Entities, as applicable to the relevant service.
Acorns Customer or Customer means an individual who has an Acorns User Account in Good Standing as defined in the Program Agreement.
Acorns Customer Account means an Acorns User Account as defined in the Program Agreement.
Acorns Grow means Acorns Grow, Inc.
Acorns Invest Account or Invest Account has the same meaning as Acorns Invest Account in the Program Agreement, which must be open and in Good Standing for purposes of the Match Program.
Affiliated Entity means any person or entity that directly or indirectly controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with the applicable entity. “Control” means ownership of more than 50% of the entity’s voting interests or the power to direct its management and policies.
Disqualifying Event means any event described in Section 6 that permits Acorns to delay, decline, forfeit, rescind or recapture a Match Amount.
Eligible Service means a lawful service personally provided by a Tip Recipient while performing the duties of an occupation listed in Table 1 to 26 C.F.R. § 1.224-1(h), as amended. An assistant or apprentice qualifies only while performing the same services described for the listed occupation. Acorns may determine and change eligible occupations and service categories in its sole discretion.
Match Amount means the amount funded by Acorns Grow and invested in a Tip Recipient’s Invest Account in accordance with the portfolio and investment settings applicable to that account, subject to these Match Terms.
Offer Period means the period beginning on September 30, 2026 and ending when Acorns Grow terminates the Offer Period in its sole discretion, with or without notice.
Payment Date means the date on which Acorns Grow initiates the investment of an accrued Match Amount in the Tip Recipient’s Acorns Invest Account.
Program Agreement means the Acorns Program Agreement, including all supplements thereto.
Qualified Tip means a genuine and voluntary payment submitted through Invest My Tips by a Tipper for an Eligible Service provided by the Tip Recipient that: (i) exceeds the amount agreed to or required to be paid for the Eligible Service; (ii) is at least $5.00 and no more than $250.00; (iii) has successfully settled and has not been charged back, reversed, or otherwise returned; and (iv) was not submitted by the Tip Recipient, a person acting on the Tip Recipient’s behalf, or through conduct intended to circumvent these Match Terms, the terms applicable to Tippers or Tip Recipients, or any transaction limit or control, or for any unauthorized or unlawful purpose. A Qualified Tip does not include, by way of example and without limitation, a mandatory service charge, required fee, commission, or gift, or a payment that is unrelated to an Eligible Service, is paid between colluding persons, or is made for any unlawful purpose.
Quarterly Cap means the maximum Match Amount payable to any Tip Recipient in a single calendar quarter, which is $75.00; provided that for the calendar quarter in which the Tip Recipient receives their first-ever Qualified Tip, the Quarterly Cap will be prorated based on the percentage of calendar days remaining in the quarter, including the date of the first Qualified Tip and rounded to the nearest cent.
Match Settlement Date means the date on which securities purchased equivalent to the Match Amount are posted to a Tip Recipient’s Invest Account and available to trade.
Tip means any payment submitted through Invest My Tips, whether or not it qualifies as a Qualified Tip.
Tipper means an individual who personally receives an Eligible Service and sends a purported Tip to the Tip Recipient using the Tip Recipient’s Code. Tipper also includes an individual who, as the parent or legal guardian of a minor who personally receives an Eligible Service, sends a purported Tip using the Tip Recipient’s Code. The parent or legal guardian, not the minor, is the Tipper.
Tipping Profile means the public profile created by a Tip Recipient through Invest My Tips and associated with the Tip Recipient’s Code.
Tip Recipient, “you,” or “your” means an eligible Acorns Customer who agrees to these Match Terms and the terms applicable to Tip Recipients and uses Invest My Tips to receive Qualified Tips for Eligible Services.
Invest My Tips means the feature available on the Acorns Platform through which eligible third-party Tippers may send Tips to participating Tip Recipients for direction to their Acorns Invest Accounts, subject to the Program Agreement and the terms applicable to Tippers and Tip Recipients.
All terms used but not otherwise defined herein have the same meaning as in the Program Agreement.
2. PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Subject to these Match Terms, the Program Agreement, and the terms applicable to Tippers and Tip Recipients, for each eligible Tip Recipient who uses Invest My Tips and receives a Qualified Tip during the Offer Period, Acorns Grow will fund a Match Amount equal to 1% of the Qualified Tip, subject to the Daily Limit and Quarterly Cap set forth in Section 3.
3. MATCH AMOUNT
3.1 1% Match Rate. The Match Amount for each Qualified Tip is 1% of the Qualified Tip amount.
3.2 Daily Limit. The maximum aggregate amount of Qualified Tips eligible for Match Amounts on any single day is $1,000.00. Qualified Tips will count toward the daily limit in the order in which they are initiated by a Tipper, subject to successful settlement. “Day” means a calendar day based on UTC.
3.3 Quarterly Cap. The maximum total Match Amount in any calendar quarter is $75.00 per Customer. For the first calendar quarter in which a Customer receives their first-ever Qualified Tip, the Quarterly Cap will be prorated using the formula stated in the definition of “Quarterly Cap.”
3.4 Rounding. Match Amounts will be rounded up to the nearest whole cent if equal to or greater than $0.015, and rounded down if less than $0.015. Match Amounts that round to less than $0.01 will not be awarded.
4. MATCH PAYMENT
Match Amounts are accumulated during each calendar quarter and paid out within the first calendar month following the close of that quarter. The expected payout schedule for each Payment Date is:
(a) Q1 (Jan–Mar): paid on or about April 15.
(b) Q2 (Apr–Jun): paid on or about July 15.
(c) Q3 (Jul–Sep): paid on or about October 15.
(d) Q4 (Oct–Dec): paid on or about January 15.
Match Amounts are invested in the Tip Recipient’s Invest Account as of the Match Settlement Date. Payment Dates and Match Settlement Dates are approximate and not guaranteed, and may be delayed due to holidays, transaction reviews, unforeseen events, technical issues, or other circumstances. Acorns may further delay a Payment Date or Match Settlement Date in its sole discretion if it determines or suspects fraud, unauthorized activity, or a violation of these Match Terms, the Program Agreement, the terms applicable to Tippers or Tip Recipients, or any other applicable terms.
5. ELIGIBILITY
To receive a Match Amount, a Tip Recipient must, both when the applicable Qualified Tip is received and at all times through the Match Settlement Date: (a) maintain an Acorns Customer Account and Acorns Invest Account in Good Standing; (b) remain eligible under, and comply with, the terms applicable to Tip Recipients, these Match Terms, and the Program Agreement; and (c) satisfy any other eligibility conditions disclosed for the Match Program. If a Customer’s Acorns Customer Account or Invest Account is closed or closure is initiated before the Match Settlement Date, the Tip Recipient will forfeit all affected Match Amounts not yet credited. Closing an account after a Match Amount has been credited will not, by itself, result in forfeiture or recapture, except as otherwise expressly provided in Section 6.
6. FORFEITURE AND RECAPTURE
Upon a Disqualifying Event, whether occurring before or after the Match Settlement Date, Acorns may: (i) delay, decline or forfeit any affected Match Amount not yet credited; and (ii) rescind or recapture any affected Match Amount already credited, together with any proceeds directly attributable to that Match Amount. Disqualifying Events include:
(a) Fraud or unauthorized activity. Acorns determines or suspects, in its sole discretion, that any Qualified Tip or Match Amount was obtained through fraud, collusion, exploitation of a technical error, or other unauthorized means.
(b) Violation of terms. The Customer violates these Match Terms, the terms applicable to Tip Recipients, the Program Agreement, or any other terms applicable to the Acorns Customer.
(c) Account disqualification. The Customer's Invest Account or Acorns Customer Account is not in Good Standing at any time, provided that voluntary closure of an account in Good Standing after an applicable Match Settlement Date will not, by itself, constitute a Disqualifying Event.
7. NO RECOMMENDATION
The Match Program is not a recommendation of any investment or investment strategy. By participating, each Tip Recipient acknowledges that neither Acorns Grow nor any of its Affiliated Entities has recommended any particular investment action in connection with a Match Amount. Investing involves risk, including the loss of principal.
8. TAX TREATMENT
Acorns processes and treats all Match Amounts as awards from Acorns Grow for tax reporting purposes. Match Amounts may be taxable income to the Tip Recipient. Neither Acorns Grow nor any Affiliated Entity provides tax, accounting, or legal advice, and nothing in these Match Terms constitutes tax advice or a complete presentation of the tax reporting rules that may apply. Each Tip Recipient is solely responsible for determining, reporting, and paying any tax obligations or consequences arising from awarded Match Amounts. PLEASE CONSULT A TAX ADVISOR FOR INDIVIDUALIZED ADVICE.
9. MISCELLANEOUS
9.1 Modification and Termination. Acorns reserves the right to modify these Match Terms and/or to terminate the Match Program at any time, with or without notice, subject to applicable law. Termination or modification of the Match Program will not affect a Match Amount attributable to a Qualified Tip received before the effective time of the termination or modification, except as expressly provided under these Match Terms, the terms applicable to Tip Recipients, and the Program Agreement.
9.2 Restrictions. The Match Program is personal to each Tip Recipient and may not be sold, transferred, assigned, sublicensed, or used by another individual. The Match Program is available only to lawful U.S. residents or active members of the United States Armed Services who maintain a valid U.S. address and are temporarily located outside the United States in connection with their service, in each case who are eligible to participate in Invest My Tips. The Match Program may not be combined with certain other promotions identified by Acorns.
9.3 Interpretation and Disclaimers. Match Amounts are treated as “Reward Shares” for purposes of the Program Agreement. The Match Program and all Match Amounts are subject to the Program Agreement. The Program Agreement and the Acorns Privacy Policy continue to govern your Acorns accounts, use of the Acorns Platform, and participation in the Match Program. If these Match Terms conflict with the Program Agreement or any other terms regarding Invest My Tips, these Match Terms control solely with respect to the Match Program. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including without limitation provisions concerning investigations, forfeiture, taxes, records, indemnification, and interpretation, will survive.
